Bonfire Nights
The one fixed event in the week, and the reason half our guests book a Thursday into their stay.
The fire is lit at eight on the beach below the club. There is a lamb on the spit from five in the afternoon, bread baked that day, wine from the cellar in jugs, and raki that the kitchen makes no apology for. Tables are long and shared; nobody is seated by residence.
Music starts when it starts. Two of the kitchen team play, a lyra player comes over from Naoussa most weeks, and by midnight it is usually guests. It runs until the fire is out, which is later in August than in May.
